Melissa Horvat

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Melissa is currently completing her Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She has obtained an undergraduate degree in Behavioural Psychology. In addition, she also has also completed a graduate certificate in Infant and Early Child Mental health and has acquired a diploma in Behavioural Sciences.

Melissa has a passion to work with children and teenagers, she has over 6 years of experience working with this population in various settings such as schools, daycare centers and summer camps.

Melissa also has experience working one on one with children and teenagers that have been diagnosed with developmental disabilities, she is dedicated to supporting each individual and their needs, as well as creating plans to help the individual achieve their goals.

Melissa specializes in working with individuals that are experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioural issues, developmental disabilities, autism, bullying, ADHD and ADD. The approaches that Melissa uses are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and Mindfulness.

Throughout the counselling journey, Melissa strives to create a safe and comfortable environment where individuals can grow, learn and achieve their goals.
