How I can help
I understand that starting therapy can be challenging, but also deeply rewarding. Whether you are looking for something specific out of therapy or have no idea where to begin, I will be here every step of the way and help you navigate your life with confidence. It may be that you are starting therapy because the stress of everyday life has taken control or maybe something significant has happened in your life that needs some extra care and attention. Whatever the reason may be, it is valued, accepted, and honoured within the four walls of my office.
I practice using a wide range of therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Emotionally Based Therapy. I recognize that each individual’s needs and experiences are unique, and I ensure that my approach is tailored to my patient’s needs.
Through collaborative work, I can assist you in crafting self-care plans that integrate seamlessly into your daily routines, create healthier coping strategies that enhance self-awareness and foster self-compassion during difficult times. My goal as a therapist is to help my patients understand themselves in more profound ways and create a lifelong happiness that shines from the inside out.
Experience
Rebecca is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a Yorkville University graduate with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. I bring over 8 years of experience working with children, teens, families, and adults in diverse settings, such as licensed childcare centers, schools, helplines, multidisciplinary clinics and hospitals. Over the years, I have honed my skills and knowledge to provide effective support for individuals facing anxiety, depression, body image issues, self-esteem issues, ADHD, autism, emotional regulation issues, relationship issues, bullying, and stress.
More than just my work
- “Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us.” – David Richo
- In the warmer months, I enjoy camping and fishing trips, these activities bring me a deep sense of peace and connection to nature.
- I recently adopted two kittens (I wish I could have a million animals!)
