How Shimoor Can Help
Choosing to start therapy can be daunting. Meeting a stranger and opening up to them can be challenging and uncomfortable for anyone.
I provide a safe, caring space where individuals can feel comfortable sharing their experiences. Everyone is different, so I tailor my sessions to each person’s individual circumstances and needs, providing empathetic, respectful, and culturally sensitive support.
We can work together on understanding themselves, creating goals, and finding strategies to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Experience
Shimoor is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and earned her Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology, a diploma in Early Childhood Education, and additional training in various mental health-related topics. She has over a decade of experience supporting children and youth, both within the community and the public school system, with a focus on special education. She has also volunteered with Talk Suicide Canada, providing support and crisis intervention for individuals of all ages in distress.
More Than Just My Work
I can recite every line from the movie “Beetlejuice” by heart.
